I'm just going to put down what I find most interesting about Justin Bieber's case (just in case I'm going to leave it at this):


-- contrary to what appears to be the I-had-a-dream PR spin, he was in fact quite the realist (music was but a hobby for him, as it should have been, until somebody -- Scooter Braun -- made him an offer well worth exploring; without that offer his chances to make it in the music world would have probably been slim to none)

-- would be interesting to look at JB's choices as opposed to Dan Balan's choices; they both had you tube success but did very different things with it; while JB is by far the better known and... better paid, Dan Balan kept a lot more control over his music and a lot more individual freedom (at the expense of fame); would Dan Balan had taken the JB route if offered to him? not sure... might well have... but I believe what Dan Balan ended-up with (the control over his music, persona etc.) is probably a lot more fulfilling
